Sewer inspections conducted in Woodgate soon

Woodgate sewer inspection
Bundaberg Regional Council will conduct sewer inspection work in Woodgate in the coming weeks.

Bundaberg Regional Council will be conducting vacuum sewer system inspections in Woodgate over the coming weeks with the aim to proactively repair defects.

Water and Wastewater portfolio spokesperson Cr Jason Bartels said the preventative inspection was performed once a year in November to prepare for the holiday season.

“This work allows for crews to identify any repairs required to reduce defects in the sewer system,” he said.

“While there will be no interruptions to the service during the four weeks in which the work is undertaken, residents are advised crews may need to visit private properties to gain access to the sewer system.

“Residents will be notified if this is the case.”

Cr Bartels said the work would be undertaken specifically to the vacuum sewer system in place within the coastal town.

“Crews will visually inspect these interface chambers to ensure that there is no issue that might impact the operation of the system,” he said.

Council would like to thank residents for their cooperation during this time.”

The inspection work will begin on Monday and will take about four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
