Bundaberg Regional Council has written to the Defence Department seeking an official RAAF fly-over on Anzac Day, April 25.
Mayor Jack Dempsey said this would be a “fitting tribute” to the many men and women who have served Australia.
The RAAF flies over Anzac ceremonies in many other parts of Queensland.
“Anzac Day is a significant occasion which honours the sacrifice others have made so we all enjoy a wonderful lifestyle today,” Mayor Dempsey said.
“The Bundaberg Region has a proud history of military service and I would like to see this recognised by Defence.”
It’s understood authorities will make a decision on Council’s application by the end of March.
Bundaberg’s request was unsuccessful last year.
