Sunny Sura, the new owner of See St Seafood Takeaway in Bargara, is delighted with the community’s response to his business venture.

Three weeks in and new See Street Seafood Take-Aways owner Sunny Sura could not be happier with how the Bargara business is going.

Sunny, a long-term Bundaberg North resident, said he \already loved living in the Bundaberg Region, but his enjoyment had only increased thanks to the community support he had received since buying the store.

“I really have to thank the locals from Bundaberg and Bargara because they have been so supportive,” Sunny said.

“This is the most wonderful community I have ever been a part of.”

With the popular See Street Seafood takeaway store only closed for two weeks before reopening under his ownership, Sunny is content for it to continue relatively unchanged for the time being but does have plans to expand the shop’s menu.

“Everything’s the same for now, we are sticking to the menu,” he said.

“I would like to gradually introduce themed days, such as burger days and fish days, and bring in a live ice cream station where customers select their ice cream and fruit pieces.

“But that’s all in a month or so, for now we just want to get the shop back up and running.”

Sunny said steak burgers, hamburgers, hamburgers with the lot and chicken burgers had been popular purchases with customers in the first two weeks of operation and that his business also offered a catering service.

He said customers had described the shop as a ‘hidden gem’ due to its location a street back from Bargara’s Esplanade.

However, he hoped the encouraging feedback received from residents and visitors to See Stree Seafood meant it would not be ‘hidden’ for much longer.

An experienced fast-food operator after having worked with several Bundaberg outlets, Sunny said he had realised the potential offered by See Street Seafood Take-Aways and hoped to apply his knowledge to ensure it continued to meet the needs of the community.

He said the purchase of new equipment and additional staff training had rectified some minor service delays experienced by customers in the business’s opening days of trade.

See Street Seafood Take-Aways is open seven days per week from 10.30am to 8pm. Phone 4130 5999.
