Carinbundi Foundation float shares the magic

One of the popular community floats in the procession was the Carinbundi Foundation float.

Carinbundi Foundation Community Relations Manager Tina Marshall said the organisation’s clients and families who attended the Pageant of Lights had a terrific time sharing in the Christmas spirit with the community.

“At Christmas time it doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from or what abilities you have, everyone can share in the joy of the season,” Tina said.

“Our theme was a simple one – a happy, merry and bright Christmas for all.

“In the weeks leading up to the Pageant our clients worked together to come up with our theme and to shop for and make all the decorations.”

Carinbundi client Luke said he loved how so many people came out to see the parade.

“Yes, we all helped to make decorations for the van in our art program,” Luke said.

“It was exciting waiting in the line for our turn to go.

“There were just so many happy people waving at us as we went past.

“It was great to see everybody having fun.”

“Those that were in the parade had the best time and loved being a part of such a great event.

“It’s good for us to be seen in a fun way as part of the Bundaberg community.

Rum City Vintage Machinery Club’s float reflects hobby

Rum City Vintage Machinery Club’s pageant theme was based on the group’s hobby of collecting, restoring, exhibiting and demonstrating vintage machinery and memorabilia.

Rum City Vintage Machinery Club President Neville Mundt said the club’s inspiration was the pleasure our members get not only for themselves, but in seeing the pleasure it brings to the public, especially the children and elderly.

“For us the pageant ran very smoothly and was a delight to see the crowd so excited,” Neville said.

“We don’t participate in events to win prizes, we enter because we enjoy doing it and enjoy seeing the crowds enjoying it.”
