The significant and much-anticipated development of the Moore Park Beach precinct is forging ahead with contractors on site.

The Moore Park Beach precinct is a multi-million-dollar initiative which encompasses a range of amenities aimed at enhancing liveability for residents and attracting visitors.

Bundaberg Regional Council has engaged a delivery team to ensure works are delivered efficiently, collaboratively, and effectively across a range of Moore Park Beach stakeholders.

The precinct will have a number of buildings including a new community annex with three new buildings, which will house the community hub, men’s shed and a storage and thrift shop building.

Council has also entered into a building contract with local builder Hallstone Constructions to deliver the new community annex located north of the Moore Park Beach Bowls Club.

Bundaberg Mayor Helen Blackburn said the Moore Park Beach precinct had a diverse range of offerings, including modern recreational facilities, green spaces, and upgraded infrastructure.

“This is a game-changer for Moore Park Beach and the wider Bundaberg Region,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“The new precinct not only provides state-of-the-art facilities but also creates a vibrant hub for social interactions and community gatherings.”

The precinct's features include significant landscape works, irrigation of the sports oval, civil works, and a new sewer reticulation network and wastewater treatment plant.

“These enhancements are expected to promote healthy lifestyles, boost tourism and build a strong sense of community among residents,” Mayor Blackburn said.

Divisional representative Cr Jason Bartels said it was fantastic to see the collaborative efforts of Council, community stakeholders, and project developers in realising the precinct's vision.

“The Moore Park Beach precinct reflects our commitment to sustainable development and creating spaces that enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike,” Cr Bartels said.

“Within the new precinct, Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) will also be constructing a new clubhouse to service Moore Park Beach.

“Upon completion of their new clubhouse, slated for late 2024 or early 2025, the existing old facility will be demolished.

“Council will be assisting SLSQ by providing them with a sewer connection to their new facility as well as carpark and landscaping around the building.”

Council will ensure, while works are underway, access will be maintained to the existing holiday park, the bowls club, the Pink House, community centre, existing SLSQ clubhouse and the existing surf carpark.

The project has received Queensland Government funding through the Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program (LGGSP).

  1. Well done Jason. You should be proud of the long effort you’ve put in to make this happen. Also thanks to the previous mayor/council that actually initiated this project for our small town. Ray

  2. Great for Moore Park and all of us, visitors included. I do think though that the road out to Moore Park needs to be upgraded as it is very bumpy and dangerous, just lowering the speed limit would not help, it would only discourage visitors as it would just take longer to get there and won’t help wear & tear on vehicles or improve safety.

  3. Is the new
Skate park, pump track and kids playground also getting built as per upgrade original plans ?
