Aspiring event managers can learn all the tricks of the trade at Bundaberg Regional Council’s Event Management Bootcamp.
Bookings are now open for the workshop which will take place at CQUniversity on Saturday 21 June at a cost of just $20 per person.
Hosted by Council’s Community Development team with training from the Australian Centre for Regional Events, the bootcamp aims to give attendees practical skills in event management and succession planning.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said the workshop was a direct result of community feedback.
“The Event Management Bootcamp is being delivered in response to the feedback received from our community survey where event management was identified as a skills gap,” Cr McPhee said.
“It is ideal for those already involved in organising events for local clubs and groups and are looking to improve their skills with industry tips and tricks.”
The first half of the bootcamp will cover general event trends, strategic planning, volunteer recruitment and management, setting up an operations manual and a pathway to financial viability.
The second half will be more tailored to the needs of events held in the Bundaberg Region, with experienced experts on hand to discuss all areas of event management and delivery.
“Whether you’re a member of a community group, a local business or a student considering a future in events, this bootcamp is designed to help you achieve your event management goals,” Cr McPhee said.
“Spaces are limited so I would encourage anyone interested in attending to book soon.”
