Red Rooster approved for Bundaberg East

Red Rooster will soon join the likes of KFC, Hungry Jacks and Dominos in Bundaberg East with the fast food giant receiving development approval for the site on Bargara Road.

The single-storey restaurant will feature a contemporary design, company colours, a drive through facility and ample parking space for up to 14 vehicles once constructed.

Access to the site will be available via Campbell Street.

In the initial development proposal, the site at 115 and 117 Bargara Road was identified as suitable due its prominence and the range of similar businesses in the area.

“The characterisation of Bargara Road in Bundaberg East is a mix of commercial and retail uses,” the proposal states.

“Many food and drink outlets with drive-throughs exist along Bargara Road, including Hungry Jacks immediately to the east.

“Bargara Road is a prominent east/west thoroughfare connecting locals and travellers to Bargara.”

The approval of Red Rooster adds to a development boom experienced in the Bundaberg East area in the past few years.

In June a 24/7 service station on Princess Street was given the green light while work to Hungry Jacks was completed in 2020 and KFC celebrated its opening in 2019.

  1. Yeah move away from our CBD it’s dead with no sign of the rework even being started & hardly any progress towards the Master Plan. Hinkler Central, South Side Central, Avoca/Kensington, even Flood prone Bundaberg North & Bundaberg East are booming.
