Shade sail installation continues across parks

shade sail
Recently completed shade sail installation at Habitat Estate Park in Branyan.

Three more shade sails will be installed over playgrounds in the coming weeks as Bundaberg Regional Council continues its commitment to providing the community with sun safe recreational spaces.

It comes after the completed shade sail installation at Habitat Estate Park in Branyan last week, following on from the construction of a new playground in 2021.

An adventure fort with slide, seesaw and swing set were added to the area along with additional pathways and a shelter.

Shade sails will continue to be installed around the region at:

South Head Parklands, Burnett Heads

• Between Monday 10 July and Friday 4 August 2023

Life Savers Park, Elliott Heads

• Between Monday 17 July and Friday 11 August 2023

Christsen Park, Bargara

• Between Monday 24 July and Friday 8 September 2023

Eight playgrounds will have received shade sails between April and September this year.

The installations will ensure that these parks support the recreation needs of the surrounding community.

To stay up to date with the progress of each upgrade read more on Council’s Our Bundaberg Region project page.

  1. trees are better than shade sales. trees also do much good for water tables, and i can’t imagine how a shade sale performs that task. the light rail that weaves through those trees out on the Randwick leg is delightful. Mr. Honor should try the experience.
