Red Rooster has officially announced the doors to its newest Bundaberg store have opened.

Located along Bargara Road, the Bundaberg East store has been under construction for the past few months after a development application was approved by Bundaberg Regional Council.

The single-storey restaurant features a contemporary design, company colours, a drive-through facility and ample parking space for up to 14 vehicles.

Yesterday, the Red Rooster Facebook page announced the opening of the new store after enquiries swirled across social media from excited residents.

“Our newest Red Rooster has just opened in Bundaberg East Qld,” the post read.

“The Rooster’s calling you to head to 115 Bargara Rd today!”

In the initial development proposal, the site at 115 and 117 Bargara Road was identified as suitable due its prominence and the range of similar businesses in the area.

“Many food and drink outlets with drive-throughs exist along Bargara Road, including Hungry Jacks immediately to the east,” the proposal states.

“Bargara Road is a prominent east/west thoroughfare connecting locals and travellers to Bargara.”

The approval of Red Rooster adds to a development boom experienced in the Bundaberg East area in the past few years.

In June a 24/7 service station on Princess Street was given the green light while work to Hungry Jacks was completed in 2020 and KFC celebrated its opening in 2019.

  1. Makes sense with the over development of Kalkie with 2nd dwellings that Bundaberg East would become a hotspot for development.
