New shade sails will be installed over the playground in Christsen Park on The Esplanade, Bargara from next week to ensure the sun safety of the community.
The Bundaberg Regional Council project will be undertaken by local business Planet Shade and will feature six additional shade sails in the area.
The installation will be undertaken between Monday 24 July and Friday 8 September, weather permitting.
During this time the playground will be fenced off for safety reasons.
Machinery will be used to excavate the holes for the posts and will generate some noise.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Christsen Park is a popular recreational space in Bargara.
It features a large playground with a low rope course for older children and a range of play equipment catering to young ones.
Visitors can enjoy a beautifully shaded park with large open areas, spaces to picnic and ample barbecue facilities and shelters.
The park is surrounded by a path suitable for bikes, scooters, skates and prams, and with seating and banana lounges overlooking the water.
