Gin Gin State High School students have been busy working on some creative pieces for their newest art exhibition, New Generation.

The exhibition will be showcased at the Gin Gin Courthouse Gallery from Saturday, 5 October, displaying an eclectic range of art from students in Year 7 to Year 12.

The school's art coordinator Sarah Christmass said students had been working on their pieces for the entire school year.

“There will be quite a mix of art on display including paintings and sculpture pieces,” she said.

New Generation art focuses on social issues

New Generation is set to fill the entire gallery with artwork that encompass issues from identity through to social expectations.

Ms Christmass said students had created both eye catching works that invoke a personal response from the audience, to reflective paintings that are inspired by the great masters and art movements through the ages.

“It focuses on social issues and asks some really strong questions about our society.”
